Twitter ends Covid disinformation policy

Repeat offenders may be suspended for a few hours or even indefinitely, but not have their accounts closed.

Twitter has ended policies to combat false information about the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the announcement, the company has not taken against the posts that violate the regulations for this virus. Twitter previously announced that by September it had suspended more than 11,000 accounts for spreading false information about COVID-19.

Its other misinformation policies apply to the company. No action will be taken against accounts that post misinformation once on Twitter. Repeat offenders can be suspended for hours, days – or even indefinitely.
