Chaos in Bavaria: Snow covers the city of Munich, all flights are canceled

Flights at Germany’s second-largest airport have been canceled until midday.

Heavy snow flooded the Bavarian capital and public transport was suspended.

Heavy snowfall hit southern Germany on Friday night and continued this morning, causing major disruptions at Munich Airport, the country’s second-busiest hub.

The airport announced this morning that it will suspend flights until noon.

Around 320 of the 760 flights scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled, the German news agency DPA reported. Airport workers tried to keep at least one runway operational and free of snow.
