Some Madrid metro stations forced to close due to flooding – as storm Efraín hits Spain

Several metro stations in Madrid were forced to close after being flooded with waist-deep water after storm Efrain brought another day of torrential rain.

According to foreign media, Weather.al reports, images are circulating on social media that are not located for the flood waters, which are high and accumulated in the main part.

Spain’s state meteorological agency AEMET reported on Monday that there could be up to 80 liters of rain in just 12 hours in some areas and more than 100 liters in 48 hours, after heavy rain had already hit parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.

Spain has seen some of its heaviest rainfall ever this year.
