An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck the western part of the Indonesian island of Java today.

it was reported to have occurred at a depth of 118 kilometers, the local seismological agency reported.
The BMKG agency added that there is no danger of a tsunami after the earthquake, foreign media report.
The earthquake was also felt in the capital Jakarta, located on the northwestern side of the island.
So far there have been no reports of damage, while authorities in the town of Garut, located 50 kilometers from the epicenter, announced that they are conducting investigations.
Last month, a shallow earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck the city of Cianjur, claiming more than 300 lives.
