Larger than the Statue of Liberty, the giant asteroid is expected to pass close to Earth today

The US agency “NASA” discovered that an asteroid larger than the “Statue of Liberty” is moving through the galaxy at a speed of 61,155 km per hour and will pass near Earth today, May 27. The Center for the Study of Earth Objects confirmed the existence of the spatial rock through its website. According to the European Space Agency, the asteroid was discovered on May 3. The asteroid, named 2021 JF1, is approaching the galaxy at 38,000 miles per hour (61,155 km per hour), according to NASA’s NEO Close Close Approaches List.

NASA says the estimated diameter of the 2021 JF1 is between 95 and 210 meters, which makes it larger than the Statue of Liberty in New York, which has a height of 93 meters. The asteroid is expected to pass about 3.2 million miles from Earth. This may sound far-fetched, but it is relatively close in space, and NASA considers everything that passes within 120 million miles of our planet as objects close to Earth.
